Second Year Related Theory: At TMA Headquarters
This second-year course covers machine tool technology, takes place over two-semesters and is for second-year apprentices. This course is for second-year apprentices only. The course continues the study of GD&T, process planning, process control, heat treatment, identification of steels and shop math. Major emphasis is given on CNC setup & operator skills and basic CNC programming. Other studies include advanced lathe, milling, surface grinding operations, introduction to conventional and wired EDM machines, centerless and cylindrical ID/OD grinding. Other studies include machinability of materials, cutting tool materials and introduction to continuous improvement and 5s. This course meets two nights per week and is taken both semesters by all second-year students.
Dates: Classes begin September 10, 2012, Mondays & Wednesdays, 6:30pm-9:30pm

Pre-Requisite: Successful completion of TMA Related Theory First Year Course.
